Crimson Ant, via Borneo Unggul Projects Sdn Bhd (BUP), is the host of the Lohan Mamut Project. BUP is a private limited company in Malaysia.

Location of Lohan Mamut Project:

Lohan Tailings Dam consists of approx 130 million tonnes of mine tailings covering 750 acres generated from approx 25 years of copper gold mining at the nearby now-abandoned Mamut Copper Mine.

During the mining operations from 1975 to 1999, Mamut Copper Mine produced 2.47 million tonnes of copper concentrate, approx 600 tonnes of copper, approx 45 tonnes of gold and approx 294 tonnes of silver.

BUP will be treating and processing the tailings towards rehabilitating and regenerating the tailings. For this operation, BUP will be drawing treated water from water-filled Mamut Mine pit which goes towards dewatering the pit. BUP will also be putting in place processes at Mamut Mine to improve the acidity of the water to pH balanced.

The engineering, construction and commissioning of the processing plant is expected to take 12-18 months.

The geology at Mamut Copper Mine that produced Lohan tailings is copper mineralisation associated with adamellite porphyry intrusion. Ore mineral assemblage is dominantly chalcopyrite with minor molybdenite and sparse galena and sphalerite.
